Developed by modern farmers…
More than 10 years ago, Matej Leskovec built his first aquaponics and hydroponics system on the top of his garage.
In Matej’s home garden, he was facing issues such as automating the greenhouse windows and water pumps, figuring out the easiest way to add buffer into the water or thinking about who will take care of the garden while he is away.
Matej met the right team, won some awards and investments, designed and built more small scale and professional systems - and from a hobby grew a profession.
While growing professionally, we faced even greater challenge: how to optimise the plants and fish environment where small percentages mean large difference in income.
… for modern farmers

We have developed Ponnod Smart with the first vision to help out the needs of people who are just like we were when we started with our passion for modern farming:
- DIY enthusiasts
- small farmers on a tight budget
Based on unique knowledge and experience
Ponnod Smart is a direct result of more than ten years of research and accumulation of knowledge in setting up and running aquaponics and hydroponics systems – both small scale and professional.
We are focused on optimization of efficiency of production systems; we make the finest of fine tuning possible.
Unique control algorithms were developed based on years of experience with fish and vegetable production.

Standing on the shoulders of open-source

We firmly believe in open-source and community sharing. Interaction and community support have always been the backbone of aquaponics.
That is why Ponnod Smart stands on the shoulders of:
